I'd say the biggest problem for both AMD and Intel is unlike the MHz wars where the difference between a 1Ghz and a 1.5Ghz CPU was a huge leap the core wars have made PCs so damn OP that most folks simply aren't even going to stress a mid-range 10th gen or Zen 3, much less be bottlenecked. Hell I bought my 5700x only because I found it for $140 on a Prime sale but did I NEED it? Nope the 3600 I had was doing fine. So I have a feeling in this economy a lot of folks are going to do like I'm doing and stick with what they got because even 5-7 year old PCs have so many cores and threads its just overkill for daily tasks.

Hey Paul, I Know you did S.L.I a while back, but I think you should test it up against the new technologies like "Frame generation". there are some DX12 modern titles that support S.L.I since they still have DX11 fall backs on some. The Witcher 3 Wild hunt is one of those games.

Meh. These companies have been in the datacenter/pro segments for way longer than gamers want to acknowledge nor understand. At worse, the "top" gaming GPU isn't as "top" of the stack as it used to be..... which as I recall, the Nvidia croud has delt with and has since stopped moaning about it, so yeah. As long as it delivers "all the FPSes," the kids will eat it all up with little question.

That would be totally idiotic to sell x870 motherboards MONTHS after the new CPU's launching.

I already have PCI Gen 5 on both M.2 and PCIE X16 slots on a B650E Asrock PG Riptide Mobo, so those X870 boards are nothing to write home about for me.

How are retailers supposed to clear X670 motherboards at the exhorbinant prices they are being sold at.

I would like to say I still game, but i really havent been impressed with any games released reciently. there isnt alot of reason even to get a current gen card with so little out. I'm using 3 pc's for AI 3d modeling, voice recognition, LLM, etc etc. While i'd love to see games come out that DONT suck (not much has come out for sci-fi fans lately), Making money and learning with my PC seems a better use of time with this much uncertainty in the world. (though First Descendant looks bad ass)

How long before we can no longer generate enough electricity to power all these data centres?

I think the biggest draw for the Gigabyte GPU with the "hidden" cable is the plug comes straight out, so no bending and less chance of possibly unseating it fully, so hopefully less chance it'll melt.

The 9000 series doesn't have any added AI capability over the 7000 series, or any more cores, so nobody really cares about them... The 7000 series already runs hot and needs to be throttled in BIOS to a temperature limit, so bumping the clockspeeds even higher... is no improvement at all.
